In Scandinavia, where I live, the month of March is a welcomed relief from the dark and cold months of Winter. I really believe that just as we experience the natural seasons of our geographical climate and environment, so too does our inner world go through continually changing seasons.

We need to become good at recognising the seasons we are going through in order to approach the different areas of our lives with wisdom and intentionality.

This two-part blog post explores Four Decisions you can make
that will help you navigate the Spring seasons of your soul!

Here’s the first and second decisions; the third and fourth decisions will be in Part 2.

Decision 1. Take steps of faith

The transition between Winter and Spring is often characterised by rain. For people living in cities, Spring rain can be annoying! But for a farmer, whose livelihood is on the farm, Spring rain is a blessing! You see, when the Spring rains come, the specific seeds that are planted in the ground begin to germinate, resulting in the first signs of plant shoots and flowers beginning to poke through the soil.

In the same way, Spring seasons of your inner world can be seasons in which your ideas, dreams, goals and hard work begin to blossom into something beautiful.

This spring: bravely act on your dreams!
Take steps of faith to see your dreams become a reality.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 (MSG) says:

And then God answered: “Write this.
    Write what you see.
Write it out in big block letters
so that it can be read on the run.
This vision-message is a witness
    pointing to what’s coming.
It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait!
    And it doesn’t lie.
If it seems slow in coming, wait.
It’s on its way. It will come right on time.

I want to encourage you to write down your dreams. Who do you want to become? What do you want your life to look like? How do you want to use your skills, time and resources? What changes do you want to make in the different areas of your life? Ask God to give you ideas. Start acting upon those dreams and ideas!

The book of Proverbs further encourages us to:

Work hard at your job and you’ll have what you need… hard work brings blessings back to you…If you work hard at what you do, great abundance will come to you.

(12:11a, 14b; 14:23a TPT)

Ploughing the soil and planting seeds are hard word! But when the rain comes, you will begin to see the fruit of your labour. Take steps of faith and watch God bring blessing and provision.

Decision 2. Make plans for generosity

One of the things I love about Spring is the lengthened daylight. The increase in light results in an increase in motivation, energy and activity. Have you noticed how people tend to get a bit more friendlier in public towards strangers?

In the same way, Spring seasons in your inner world can be seasons in which you have the awareness and capacity to intentionally plan acts of kindness and generosity.

This spring: intentionally make a difference!
Invest energy into planning how you can be generous towards others.

Isaiah 32:8 (NLT) reminds us of this:

But generous people plan to do what is generous,
and they stand firm in their generosity.

Use the time you have, the skills you have, and the finances and possessions that you have to be an intentional blessing to others!

I’m excited to share the last two Spring decisions in Part 2

How are you going to apply this blog post to
