There are many times when we can be overwhelmed by fear and worry. Perhaps that’s how you are feeling right now in whatever circumstances you are currently facing. Here’s a practice that can help shift you from a place of fear and worry to a place of faith and confidence.

Identify a fear or worry

Take some time by yourself, and ask the Holy Spirit to show you something you currently think that is causing you fear or worry. It could be specific – “I am never going to be able to pay that bill next month.” Or it could be more general – “I’m not good enough.” Write down that fear or worry.

Replace it with faith and confidence

Next to what you have written, write a replacement statement that is based on the Word of God. For example: “The Lord is my provider and will sustain me.” “I am created by Almighty God and I am His masterpiece.”

Pray a daily prayer this week

Pray a daily prayer this week based on what you have written down. For example:

Heavenly Father, I’m scared that I won’t have enough money next month. But I choose to trust in you because you are my provider and sustainer. Please make a way in this situation. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Heavenly Father, to be honest, I never feel like I’m good enough or anything special. But your Word states that you created me and I am your masterpiece. Change my mindset and help me to live from this perspective today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
